Usually, you work on one base version of your RapidValue solution for a product. You can also use this solution to publish content.
However, if you, for whatever reason, want to keep track of published versions of your RapidValue solution, you can use the RapidValue version management functions.
In RapidValue, you can manage solution versions in different ways. If you want to keep track of published versions, we recommend this common ground rule: do all work on a base solution and publish specific versions from the base solution.

Base solution
Create a base solution for your product. Create the base solution as a customer solution. In this way, you have the full set of RapidValue functions and features available. Make all changes, updates, additions always to the base solution.
Version-specific solution
At the time the solution must be published (usually, for a release of the related product), you can create a copy or a release of the base solution.
